Valérie BENAIM: Aunty Of The TPMP Gang

Hello,

Today, there is a new article on my blog. You are going to discover another amazing woman: Valérie Benaim.

Valérie Bénaim, a trained journalist, has been a commentator in Cyril Hanouna’s show “Touche pas à mon poste” since 2012. She is considered as the aunt of the gang. I had the immense privilege and the honour to interview this incredible woman. I was able to discover this amazing woman by watching “Touche pas à poste” and then through her Instagram (@valerie.benaim) where she regularly posts her outfits of the day. She is very close to her followers and she likes to use very old-fashioned expressions.

I hope you’ll enjoy this interview as much as the one with Sandra Sisley 🙂

K: You are a commentator in “Touche pas à mon poste” presented by Cyril Hanouna on C8. When you work for the show, what do you do concretely? What does it mean to be a commentator for Hanouna?

Valérie: Concretely, I watch all the programmes we’re going to talk about, I collect information about them and prepare my arguments. I look for “likes” and “don’t likes” that I suggest to the editorial staff. Being Cyril’s commentator means being a commentator… 100%…

The “Touche pas à mon poste” team is like a family. You’re all in this together. Last year (2016-2017 season), the show was at the heart of a controversy. Did the fact that you are so close to each other help you hold on?

Really, we’re a family, and like any family, we stick together.

Since 2012, during the show, you’ve met a lot of international stars. Which one has made the biggest impression on you and why?

Sacha Baron Cohen (Borat), because he was very much in character, before, during and after the show, impressive.

You also have your own blog, “Les instantanées de Valérie Benaim” which, personally, I read every Monday. Where did you get the idea of sharing with us the things you like, your passions, … ?

The idea of the blog first came to me from my desire to talk about fashion, the rest followed…

How do you come up with a new idea, a new theme for an article each week and make sure that it is going to be of interest to the audience that reads you?

I’m never sure that an article idea is going to be liked, but it’s sincerely what I want to talk about every week.

You released a capsule collection in collaboration with Max&Moi in November 2017. What was your motivation to create the collection and to favour cashmere and leather?

First of all, it’s an honour to work with professional designers and to start learning this profession: talking about fashion is great, being part of it is a real pleasure. Cashmere and leather are noble materials that I love to wear and which, in my opinion, are generally timeless.

In 2005, you published your first book entitled “La rose de Stalingrad”. Then, in 2008 and 2009, there were two books about Carla Bruni and Nicolas Sarkozy. Why do you no longer write biographical books or novels?

Writing requires a lot of time and concentration. So, it’s become impossible because of the time required for TV shows, blogging, managing social networks, the Max & Moi collection…

Let’s talk about your Instagram a little bit. Most days, you post your outfits of the day, quoting the brands you wear without ever entering into a business partnership. I assume you’ve already been offered some. Why don’t you make partnerships?

I prefer to stay free because, through the outfits, my idea is to present a lot of products and, often, young designers.

You hide Patoche’s true identity! Why is it such a mystery?

Because my privacy is sacred, so it remains…private 🙂

Today, you have a certain notoriety. Has it always been easy for you to deal with celebrity?

My notoriety is not a problem because people are very nice to me. I lead a simple life.

What are the 3 words that best describe you?

The three words best describe my clothing style rather than myself: Chic, cool, modern.

Thank you very much Valerie!

Don’t hesitate to follow Valérie on her instagram (@valerie.benaim) and watch her from Monday to Friday in “C’est que de la télé” and in “Touche pas à mon poste” on C8.

Love youuu

Kat.
